Tell us a bit about you?

I'm a dog-loving, DIY fanatic, who resides in Lakeville, MN. I went to college at Gustavus, and loved every minute of my time there. I was a competitive swimmer for about 12 years, ending with my college senior year. I love to spend time with my friends, family, husband and of course our two pups!

What makes you smile?

My goofy husband and my dogs. They are always a little bit silly and make life fun!

What other hobbies do you enjoy?

I love DIY crafting! If I can get my hands on some old barn wood and create some rustic decor from it, it's a great day!!

What’s your favorite flower?

I love dahlias! They are so moody & romantic, and they make the perfect addition to any bouquet!

What romantic film do you like best?

This wouldn't be your typical romantic film - but I absolutely adore Sweet Home Alabama. Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorite actresses!

What’s a fun fact about you?

I love Halloween. It's one of my favorite holidays because of all the fun costumes and it's right around my birthday!

What is something people don’t know about you?

As much as I'd love to travel around the world, I have never been out of the country on vacation. I just ordered my first passport this year!

What is your favorite love song?

I think it changes fairly often, but one of my newer favorites is H.O.L.Y by Florida Georgia Line.

What is your favorite dessert?

My aunt makes the best chocolate cake ever, and that is for sure my favorite - although you can't go wrong with a sweet treat.

Favorite quote?

There are so many! One of my favorites is: "Where you invest your love, you invest your life". I think anyone can relate that quote to various aspects of life.

Why did you get into wedding planning?

Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be involved in weddings / wedding planning. I love helping make someone's special day run flawlessly to the best of my ability. I'm so thankful for the opportunity Kellie has provided me through Rustic Elegance!

What is your favorite part of the wedding day?

It has to be the look on the groom's face when the bride is walking down the aisle. Cliche, I know, but the look is priceless every time.

Why do you love Rustic Style Weddings?

I love the Rustic Style in all aspects of life. Even in my own house, I decorate everything I can with the "farmhouse style". Rustic Weddings are beautiful, because they are all so different and special in their own ways. I love the backyard tent weddings with a Rustic feel, or a barn wedding with the added beauty of Rustic decor.

Any great stories or moments from past weddings?

It's always touching when the bride and/or groom takes a minute during the reception to say thank you. It makes your time and effort there SO worth it :)

What tips or advice do you have for couples working on planning their wedding day?

Don't feel obligated to please everyone. Remember this is your special day, and you deserve the day that you envisioned.

Best advice for the bride on her big day?

The night goes by so quick after the ceremony. One piece of advice I will always remember someone gave to us on our wedding day is to take a step back, just the two of you, and appreciate the fact that this is one of the ONLY times in your life that all of the people you love will be in the same room. Cherish that!
