Tell us a bit about you?

I grew up in Minnesota. I live in Excelsior with my husband and two sweet boys, ages 6 and 9. I love spending time in nature and getting together with friends and family. Trying new things and traveling energizes me, and I love meeting new people.

What makes you smile?

My heart is warmed when my boys bring me rocks, sticks, feathers and other odds and ends they find on their adventures. It lights up my day.

What other hobbies do you enjoy?

Bring on the outdoor adventures! I love hiking, traveling, photography and crafts. I love sports, especially waterskiing, snowboarding, and hockey.

What’s your favorite flower?

I love daffodils and peonies. I also have a great fondness for dandelions as these are my boys' favorite 'flower'. I love watching them pick a bouquet of bright yellow dandelions or blow the seeds from the stem of the flowers that have gone to seed. Melts my heart!

What romantic film do you like best?

I love The Man From Snowy River. Horses always make a movie great!

What’s a fun fact about you?

I am a chicken mom. I will be a goat mom someday, too.

What is something people don’t know about you?

I love to get lost in the country and find my way back without maps...my favorite.

What is your favorite love song?

Usually it's some sort of country song.

What is your favorite dessert?

I love cheesecake with strawberries, although I might be eating a brownie as I type this...

Why did you get into wedding planning?

It was the perfect fit at the perfect time! I have known Kellie for many years and felt inspired by her business model. I love mixing nature and rustic elements into formal occasions. I also really enjoyed working at Interlachen Country Club at wedding events, while I was pursuing my undergraduate and masters degrees at the University of Minnesota. It is inspiring and energizing to work outdoors and create elegance in a wide variety of settings.

What is your favorite part of the wedding day?

As a planner, I love setting the scene for the bride and groom's biggest day. It is fun to create the sense of magic, romance, and beauty in a way that is unique to each couple. I love watching the guests enjoy their experience as well, especially on the dance floor!

Why do you love Rustic Style Weddings?

These weddings are absolutely beautiful. There is a delicate mix of formal and casual styling that give them a storybook quality. Guests really enjoy themselves in these unique surroundings, and the couple has time to enjoy their day.

Any great stories or moments from past weddings?

There are so many. One time a groom sang a song to his bride during the reception - very romantic.

What tips or advice do you have for couples working on planning their wedding day?

There is no absolute way of doing things. You can have an experience that reflects your uniqueness.

Best advice for the bride on her big day?

Delegate all jobs and decisions to others way ahead of time so that you can focus on the things important to you!
