THE PLANNING

Alexis and Jacob were such a sweet couple to plan with! Rustic Elegance’s owner, Kellie, worked with the couple to coordinate their wedding at Croix View Farm for them and their 265 guests. We couldn’t wait to celebrate with them in August!

THE MORNING

The wedding party arrived on site bright and early to start getting ready in their respective suites. The ladies were joined by Revv Salon and First Looks LLC who ensured they had glam that would last all day!

There was a threat of rain throughout the entire day, but that didn’t slow any of their vendors down! The RE team was on site to add finishing decor touches, greet vendors, and pin on boutonnieres. Once everyone was done getting ready and Alexis had slipped into her dress from My Darling Bridal, it was time to meet her groom outside for their first look! The couple shared a few sweet words back to back before turning around for their emotional first look. There’s just something about the first look that makes everyone teary eyed (even the RE team)!

Jillian Blanc Photography then took the couple around the venue for a few portraits before inviting the wedding party to join. We love the variety of bridesmaid dresses and how they tied in the couple’s wedding theme!

THE CEREMONY

The couple had a large wedding party with 8 on each side, plus grandparents, a flower girl, and ring bearer to get down the aisle! Luckily, we had done a day of rehearsal that morning, so everyone was feeling prepared. This is one of the many reasons we love day of rehearsals, you can get more details HERE

We were thankful that the rain held out for the ceremony, so we were able to proceed with the outdoor ceremony the couple had been dreaming of! Fern Floral provided the simple wooden arch and decorated it with the most stunning arrangement that tied in with the variety of bridesmaid dresses. The couple provided logs and other decor at the ceremony, including the pampas grass down the aisle.

One of the couple’s friends was their officiant. It was her first time officiating a wedding, and she did a great job! Alexis and Jacob did a unity candle, signed the marriage license, and finally sealed everything with a kiss. They were officially married! The couple then ended the ceremony with a receiving line to ensure they would get a moment to chat with each of their guests.

THE RECEPTION

As guests made their way through the receiving line, they moved to cocktail hour. Croix View Farm served up drinks and Lake Elmo Inn set up a buffet appetizer with tons of goodies! Everyone was also encouraged to participate in the polaroid guest book and play yard games. The venue provides a variety of games, but the couple decided to rent our bean bags so there were plenty of activities to stay busy!

Not long after, the RE team began moving everyone into the reception space for dinner. The barn looked beautiful! The couple provided a large majority of the table decor, and we added the bridesmaid bouquets to the head table. This is our favorite (and the most common) way to repurpose those beautiful bouquets!

Once everyone was seated, the wedding party did a grand entrance (including ushers and personal attendants). Once the couple made their way through and the excitement calmed down, the couple said a welcome speech and their officiant said a prayer. Then it was officially time to dive into the delicious buffet dinner provided by Lake Elmo Inn! Dessert consisted of yummy cupcakes from Eat Your Heart Out that the RE team placed on the couple’s dessert stands. And trust us, everyone definitely ate their hearts out!

When we were planning with the couple, we knew that tables would have to be moved for dancing. Because of this, we pre-planned the tables that would be moved. Afterall, you don’t want to accidentally leave your grandparents with nowhere to sit! So when it came time for the dance, the RE team helped move those tables to make room.

The couple then took to the dance floor for their first dance, followed by the traditional parent dances. Studio Veil then opened up the dance floor to everyone and got the party started! This included a fun traditional dance that the family did with chairs, and everyone joined in to “Fishing in the Dark”. We love embracing each family’s traditions and helping them have a great time!

Eventually the storm arrived and it rained big time. Thankfully, it wasn’t until later in the night, so the activities were taking place in the barn! The couple added on our clean up package, so the RE team braved the storm to take the necessary items to the pre-assigned cars. This way they were all packed up and ready when it was time to head out!

As the night progressed, we set out the popcorn that the couple had provided as a late night snack. Guests were also busy using the super cute photo booth bus provided by Twin Cities Photo Bus! All of these details provided great moments for Jacob Lane Productions to capture for the couple’s wedding video.

As the night came to a close, guests got a safe ride back to their hotel from Total Limo. The couple also provided people to help fold up chairs at the end of the night, so those individuals were on top of their tasks to wrap everything up right on time!

Alexis + Jacob, Rustic Elegance had an amazing time celebrating with you two. We hope married life has been as magical as this day!
