OutWest Arena Wedding | Hannah + Jacob
Our couples take us to the coolest places. One of our recent favorites was Hannah and Jacob’s OutWest Arena wedding!
OutWest Arena is a horse ranch that the groom’s dad owns, but it’s actually not the first time we’ve been there for a wedding. We helped with Angie and Brooks' wedding 10 years ago here! Everything came full circle for us when we found out that Brooks would be driving the horse-drawn wagon for H + J’s guests. That’s what happens when you’ve been coordinating weddings since 2012!
Rustic Elegance Owner and Lead Planner Kellie worked with the couple during the planning process. There were a few phone meetings and a site visit where the couple took Kellie around the property on a side by side.
Since the couple booked our Backyard Package, we helped determine the placement of the tent, ceremony, and overall layout. We also helped track and organize all of the rental items from Apres and K & K Fun Time. This included the tent, tables, chairs, dance floor, and more!
The logistics of the property were a bit tricky. The getting ready houses were each about half a mile down the road, and the tent was around a quarter mile from both the ceremony site and parking lot. These are the situations our team specializes in. Turning a one-of-a-kind location into a unique venue for your day! We truly couldn’t wait to pull this off for Hannah and Jacob to celebrate with their 180 guests.
THE MORNING
On the morning of the wedding, everyone was busy in their respective locations. The ladies got ready at the groom’s parents’ house right down the street with Bloom Salon and Beauty by Studee. The guys were at the couple’s home, which was also just down the street.
As our team arrived, we began placing linens on the tables and greeting vendors as they arrived. It was a very windy morning, so we worked with Bee Strong Blossoms on placing the vases on the tables so that they wouldn’t tip over.
Since the wedding party was getting ready off-site, we drove the groom’s boutonniere over and helped pin it on. We usually make sure to check in on our couples when we arrive, so it felt a little unusual not seeing Hannah all morning!
Once Hannah slipped into her beautiful gown from The White Room, she went to the groomsmen’s getting-ready location with Mary Knack Photo for the couple’s first look. She met her own personal cowboy out in the field for a romantic first look!
Then it was time for wedding party photos. We loved how the bridesmaids’ mismatched light blue dresses blended beautifully with the white bouquets from Bee Strong Blossoms!
Back at OutWest Arena, guests began arriving early. This was great as it gave us plenty of time to shuttle guests over to the ceremony site. Brooks led a horse-drawn wagon, which gave guests that true ranch vibe! We also had a couple of golf carts on standby for when things got busier.
Kellie greeted guests at the tent and directed them to parking. Meanwhile, Amy from our team was down at the ceremony site getting guests seated.
After all guests were transported to the ceremony site, Kellie texted the girls to let them know it was time for them to come on over. Upon arrival, the wedding party got on the wagon, and they were off to the ceremony!
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony took place in the middle of the field, which we called “the back 40.” There was a rented arch and baskets of flowers at the front and back of the seating area. Our team also lined the aisle with flower petals.
After getting off the wagon, the wedding party lined up and waited for our team to cue them down the aisle. The groom’s uncle, who was the couple’s officiant, started the processional. A few grandparents made their way down the aisle next, followed by the seven bridesmaids and groomsmen. Hannah then made her grand entrance, escorted by her father. She looked absolutely stunning!
The couple shared a beautiful ceremony surrounded by their loved ones. As they recessed down the aisle and went into an epic dip kiss, guests blew bubbles. It was magical!
As the wedding party grabbed the ceremony decor and hopped back on the wagon to head to cocktail hour, the ushers dismissed guests for the couple’s receiving line. As guests made their way through, they headed to Brooks for a ride via horse-drawn wagon.
THE RECEPTION
Guests slowly trickled in from the receiving line via horse-drawn transportation. So fitting for an OutWest Arena wedding, right?!
At the cocktail hour location, appetizers were provided by Big Bore Barbecue and placed on our wine barrel and door table setup. The couple also redid a horse trailer, which was used by Billy’s Bar to serve drinks. So fun!
Once everyone made their way back to the tent, we asked guests to be seated for dinner. Kellie took this opportunity to have a brief chat with our past couple, Angie and Brooks. It’s always so great to catch up!
The reception decor matched the couple’s theme, consisting of bud vases with white flowers and light blue votives. The chargers, napkins, silverware, and plates were all provided by Apres. Big Bore Barbecue helped our team place the menu cards and a homemade candle wedding favor (made by the groom’s mom!) at each seat. So simple and elegant!
The wedding party then made their grand entrance to “Thunderstruck.” They all had a great time getting the room riled up! Moments like these made great content for Something Blue Creative.
As the wedding party took their seats, Grandma said a prayer and everyone enjoyed an amazing BBQ buffet from Big Bore Barbecue.
Meanwhile, our team was busy setting out the cupcakes and cookies that the couple picked up from Coborn’s on the dessert table. Their friend Mark also provided a soft serve ice cream machine for dessert and to make root beer floats. It was a hit on this beautiful summer day!
After a few special speeches from the couple, maid of honor, and best man, our team began sweeping the dance floor to get it ready. The bride and groom shared a first dance to “Forever and Always”, followed by the traditional parent dances. Jacob danced with his mom to “Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys,” which was so fitting for this crew!
The wedding party then kicked off the party with a choreographed dance. Such a good time! DJ Shawn with GenerationNOW kept the vibes going all night with the best tunes.
Guests also enjoyed petting the horses and watching the one month old foals run around and play. Okay… our team loved it too. They’re just so cute!
While everyone enjoyed partying the night away we did our Clean Up Package, which included collecting all of the decor. Since it was a tent wedding, we placed everything on one end of the tent for easy clean-up for the couple and their families.
Hannah + Jacob, thank you for including us on your big day! It was so special to be back for another OutWest Arena wedding 10 years later.
Huge thanks to Mary Knack Photo for sharing these beautiful photos with us!
