Round Barn Farm Wedding | Maddie + Josh
Maddie and Josh came to our MN wedding coordinator team with their dream of an elegant Round Barn Farm wedding. As coordinators who specialize in barn weddings and have tons of experience at Round Barn Farm, we couldn’t wait to dive into the planning process with this sweet couple!
The couple met with Lead Planner and Rustic Elegance Owner, Kellie, at our office in Plymouth for their planning meetings. We offer virtual meetings for all of our couples, but there’s something so special and fun about meeting them in person!
It was so great helping plan the details so they could be sure to be present and enjoy every moment on their wedding day with their 150 guests.
THE MORNING
As the day began, there was a slight drizzle and overcast skies. It created the perfect cozy atmosphere that tapered off and cleared out later in the day. Maddie and Josh got just enough rain to set the vibes, help the grass pop a bit more, and sprinkle them with good luck!
As our team arrived on-site, we checked in with the ladies who were already busy getting ready with Taylor Marie Beauty in the Bed & Breakfast Bridal Suite. The vibes were high and the glam was looking gorgeous!
The groom arrived soon after with his groomsmen and gathered in the Bed & Breakfast Groom’s Suite to get ready and hang out.
Meanwhile, our team made sure to check on the cake and cookies for dessert and grabbed the lunch that the couple had graciously provided for us. This is never expected, but always so appreciated! As the RE duo ate their lunch, they took this time to review the timeline notes and upcoming tasks.
The RE team has a longstanding relationship with the venue’s owners, Kirk and Wendy. So when we heard that they added two new puppies to their crew, one of our tasks was to introduce ourselves to the new members of the team. ;) Dash and Diesel are such cuties, and a bonus for all the dog lovers who are shopping around for a venue!
Maddie then slipped into her beautiful gown from Vow’d. We love the off-the-shoulder look. It’s so dreamy!
Once she was ready, Maddie shared a first look with her bridesmaids. We loved all of the mismatched dresses and varying textures that the bridesmaids wore!
Marjorie Photography then took the couple outside for their first look. These emotional, heartfelt moments always help our couples relax and really get excited for the day ahead!
The couple got a few portraits together before the wedding party joined them for group photos. We just love how the pastel dresses and flowers that the family had assembled from Maple Grove Floral pop against the green trees and overcast skies!
As photos wrapped up, we pulled the group aside for a quick day-of rehearsal. This is when we ensure everyone feels comfortable walking down the aisle and finding their places. Our team also worked with the bride’s sister-in-law to make sure she had everything she needed to officiate the ceremony!
The couple also had ushers to help out during the ceremony, so we helped walk them through their jobs. They were great at greeting guests and handing out programs as everyone arrived!
THE CEREMONY
As the second shuttle of guests arrived, our team encouraged everyone to take their seats for the ceremony. Ten minutes later, the wedding party was lined up and our team was ready to cue them down the aisle!
The couple’s seven bridesmaids, eight groomsmen, and two adorable flower girls made their way down the aisle. The kiddos can be a little nervous when their time comes to walk, so we always ensure someone from our team is there to support them. Natalie from our team had these two sweet girls covered, and they did a fabulous job throwing petals!
As the bride made her way down the aisle, guests rose and greeted her with teary-eyed smiles. She looked absolutely stunning as she was escorted by her father!
Maddie and Josh wrote their own vows, which made for an extra emotional and sentimental ceremony. There wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd!
While the ceremony was in progress, Natalie from our team made her way back to the pavilion to set up snacks and prep the bride and groom’s drinks of choice.
As she returned, the bride and groom were sharing their first kiss as husband and wife before making their way down the aisle for their grand exit. The couple gladly grabbed their drinks before heading to the porch of the B&B to sign their marriage license!
THE RECEPTION
Guests grabbed drinks and snacks at cocktail hour and began socializing while exploring the venue. The couple rented our photo booth, so guests were able to stop by to capture photos from cocktail hour through the end of the night. We had it set up in the bottom of the historic round barn by the bar. The stone wall created the perfect backdrop!
On that note, we LOVE the new bar in the lower level of the barn! It’s great having the option to have two bars open during cocktail hour to cut back on the lines.
As cocktail hour came to an end, our team began directing guests to find their seats in the pavilion. We then worked with Instant Request to cue the wedding party’s grand entrance, which was a fun flip cup game. They decided to go boys vs girls, and obviously the girls took the win!
Once the excitement calmed down, the officiant said a quick welcome speech. We then began dismissing tables to enjoy the delicious buffet dinner from This Little Piggy Catering.
The couple opted to keep things simple and delicious with desserts from Costco, which our team set out on dessert stands while guests ate. The cookies made for the perfect grab-and-go treat for guests as they made their way into the historic round barn for first dances!
One of the most iconic things about a Round Barn Farm wedding is the twinkle lights surrounding you during your first dance. It always creates such a magical vibe!
The party then moved upstairs for the remainder of the dance, with Instant Request keeping the dance floor packed all night!
As the evening progressed, guests were delighted by a late night snack of pizza from Domino’s before saying their goodbyes and hopping on the Broz Bus Shuttle for a safe ride to the hotel.
Our team wrapped up the night with our Clean-Up Package that the couple opted to add on. We ensured everything was packed up into the designated vehicles so the couple and their loved ones could enjoy every last moment!
Maddie + Josh, you two were so lovely to work with. We had a wonderful time getting to celebrate your love with you and your favorite people!
