Summer Wedding at Hidden Meadow | Marissa + Logan
As Minnesota wedding coordinators who specialize in barn and outdoor weddings, we love when the summer months hit. Marissa and Logan worked with us to plan their beautiful day at Hidden Meadow & Barn in Pepin, WI. Yes, we absolutely travel across the border for Wisconsin weddings!
RE Owner and Lead Planner Kellie planned all of the wedding details via Zoom with the bride. Marissa (aka Rissy) was super organized and fun to work with! We couldn’t wait for the big day with their 230 guests.
THE MORNING
When the big day arrived near the end of June, the weather was hot and humid. A true Midwestern summer day!
The ladies arrived on-site bright and early to start getting ready. Primped worked on hair while Madison Anne Makeup handled glam. They were a great team!
Not long after, our team arrived. We worked on setting up decor alongside the couple’s florist, Ptacek's Floral. The floral team added greenery and baby’s breath to each table, while our team added table numbers and candles. We also ensured the gift/card table, guest book table, and the photo booth the couple rented from us were all set up. We loved the couple’s non-traditional guest book, which was a Minnesota Wild jersey with their last name for guests to sign!
We then checked in with the wedding party to see if they needed anything, grabbed the gratuity checks to distribute, and helped pin on boutonnieres. Rissy was looking beautiful in her gown from Our Shop Bridal!
It was then time for the first looks, Rissy’s bridesmaids were first on her list. Having your besties hype you up is the perfect way to kick off your wedding day!
Then, it was time for the first look with her groom. This was extra special because they each secretly had a surprise for one another! Rissy had Logan draw a heart, then secretly got it tattooed and revealed it to him during their first look. Logan surprised his bride by having photos printed on the inside of his suit jacket. Cait N'Her Camera did an amazing job capturing this cute moment!
They took a few couple portraits together before inviting the wedding party for group photos. This was such a fun crew, you could tell how excited they were to celebrate Rissy and Logan!
While all of this was happening, the RE team was busy greeting vendors and adding finishing touches to the venue. Then, as soon as photos wrapped up, we pulled the wedding party aside for a quick day-of rehearsal with the DJ and officiant.
The wedding party then hid away as guests began to arrive. We kept guests under the pavilion until the ceremony started due to the heat. There, they were able to grab champagne, water, and lemonade.
THE CEREMONY
It wasn’t long before we sent guests off to be seated for the ceremony. The ushers handed out programs, which doubled as a nice fan on this toasty summer day!
Once our team had the wedding party lined up, we cued the DJ and began sending everyone down the aisle. The processional included grandparents, 6 bridesmaids, 8 groomsmen, parents, and a flower girl. The ushers then closed the large brown doors before reopening them to reveal the beautiful bride and her father for the grand entrance.
The couple shared the sweetest ceremony surrounded by their loved ones. They did a sand unity symbol, read their vows, and sealed all the special promises with a kiss!
After the couple made their way down the aisle as husband and wife, they planned to do a receiving line. Due to the heat, we redirected them to the pavilion and sent guests over to greet the couple out of the sun!
THE RECEPTION
After making their way through the receiving line, guests were able to mingle, enjoy appetizers, and sip on beverages from the hosted bar. Meanwhile, the couple snuck away to sign their marriage license while our team repurposed the bouquets as head table decor and added finishing touches to the reception space.
It wasn’t long before we invited guests to take their seats for dinner. The wedding party kicked off the grand entrance as one large group, followed by the bride and groom. DJ Tony from Showtime Entertainment did a great job getting the group hyped up and always stays on top of the events of the day. He’s so great to work with!
Grandma Jeanne said a prayer before dinner, then Danielle from our team began dismissing tables to the buffet dinner from Ptacek's. As guests finished eating, they were able to hit up the dessert buffet that Ptacek’s also provided. Everything was so yummy!
The couple then went into their first dance to “Makin’ Me Look Good Again” by Drake White, followed by the traditional parent dances.
Cait N'Her Camera then got a large group photo with all of the guests on the dance floor before Showtime Entertainment kicked off the party!
Rissy and Logan snuck away for a few stunning sunset portraits with Cait N'Her Camera before returning to the dance floor with cowboy hats and sunglasses!
As the night went on, Rissy did a bouquet toss, Homemade Cafe provided delicious late night pizzas, and had fun with fun props at our photo booth!
Our team quietly handled the clean up and packed everything away into the bride’s car and a groomsman’s truck, per our Clean Up Package.
The couple then jumped onto the shuttle with their crew and headed off for a night of bar hopping!
Rissy + Logan, thank you so much for including us on your big day. You were both so sweet and we could see how much love you two have for one another!
Huge thank you to Cait N'Her Camera for sharing these amazing photos with us!
PS - If you’re reading this and feeling a little nosy about what our team will help with on a wedding day. The answer is most anything! On Rissy and Logan’s wedding day, we:
Taped the mother of the groom’s shoe buckles because they were getting stuck on her dress
Pushed the flower girl's baby brother around in a stroller until he fell asleep
Assisted with getting grandma to the air-conditioned bridal suite with ice and water because she was over heating
Grabbed a bridesmaid’s gum right before she walked down the aisle (yes, really!)
Helped a family who had a son in a wheel chair get a plate of food from the buffet
Truthfully, we’re here to make your day a success. We’ll do whatever we can to help make that happen! If you want to learn more about how we can work together, be sure to check out our packages or send us a message.
