Outdoor Wedding in Wisconsin Backyard | Jordan + Justin
As backyard wedding planners, we've transformed a wide variety of properties into wedding venues. Jordan and Justin knew that they wanted an outdoor wedding in Wisconsin, specifically at their family’s home. So we were a great fit to help with their day!
When RE Owner and Lead Planner Kellie met with the couple and the bride’s parents to assess the location, she knew this was going to be a stunning wedding day.
After touring the property and looking at locations for the tent, ceremony, parking, bathrooms, etc, we helped arrange the necessary rentals. Phos provided the lighting, while Milestone Event Rentals supplied the tent, tables, and chairs.
The week of the wedding, Kellie returned to the property to oversee the tent setup and prep the site as much as possible. We couldn’t wait for Jordan and Justin’s big day with their 225 guests!
THE MORNING
We arrived at 10am on a beautiful late-spring morning. The high was 84 degrees, but the wind helped keep everyone cool.
The wedding party conveniently got ready in the house on-site. The ladies were joined by The Beauty Painters and Makeup by Mindie, who perfected their glam!
While Josie from our team worked on setting up the place cards, Kellie and Kristen helped with a quick run through of the ceremony. After the ceremony run through, our whole team worked together to tape the place cards down so that the wind wouldn’t blow them off the tables.
Our team then finalized the ceremony chair layout plan before the groom's friends arrived to help with setup/hauling of the chairs.
As vendors arrived, we made sure to greet them and direct each one as needed. Everyone got busy with their respective jobs, including Camrose Hill setting out candles and table details that complemented Jordan and Justin's timeless wedding style.
As ceremony time arrived, our team greeted guests on the shuttle from Rent My Party Bus and directed parking.
THE CEREMONY
The part that excited us the most when touring this property was the cherry blossom trees lining the driveway. The couple selected a late spring outdoor wedding in Wisconsin because they knew that there was a high chance these trees would be in full bloom.
Knowing these cherry trees were important to Jordan and Justin, Kellie suggested having the ceremony in the driveway with the chairs facing inward versus the standard aisle with the chairs facing forward. Jordan and Justin loved the idea, and we were so excited to see the vision come together with the trees in peak bloom!
Jordan and Justin opted to have no other decor for the ceremony to allow the stunning cherry blossom trees to have their moment. We love how it turned out!
Once everyone was seated, the parents started their entrance from the gazebo. Jordan began her walk from the house with her dog by her side before meeting her father, who accompanied her the rest of the way down the aisle.
Jordan and Justin hadn’t done a first look, so they saw each other for the first time when Jordan made her grand entrance down the aisle. It was an emotion-filled moment as Justin saw his bride for the first time in her stunning Che Bella dress!
The bride’s sister led the ceremony as their officiant and did wonderfully. After sharing traditional vows and a long awaited kiss, the couple made their way down the aisle as husband and wife!
THE RECEPTION
As the ceremony wrapped up, guests were asked to take their own chairs from the ceremony to their tables. Our team helped to ensure that the correct number of chairs were at each table.
Everyone then enjoyed passed appetizers from Lake Elmo Inn and an open bar with drinks served up by the Cuzzy’s crew. Guests mingled while the saxophone player from Flow Event Group played in the background.
Guests were then invited to find their seats by locating their escort card, which was tied to a crab apple tree branch displayed in a vase. Once they were seated, they got their first course from Lake Elmo Inn, which consisted of salad, wine, and rolls.
Shortly after, the bride and groom made their grand entrance. They had fun dancing through the aisle as the saxophone player from Flow Event Group played over “Jubilee”!
As Josie and Kristen from our team went to get the cake from the house (it was a long walk!), Kellie helped get the traditional first dances underway.
Once the first dances wrapped up, the groom and father of the bride each said a speech. It was then time for a delicious plated dinner from Lake Elmo Inn! Guests chose between beef with potatoes and broccoli, chicken parmesan with vegetables, or a mushroom and rice entrée. All of which looked amazing!
For dessert, Lake Elmo Inn cut up the couple’s cake from Costco and set it out on a table for guests to enjoy.
The rest of the night was spent dancing away with Flow Event Group! We loved the lighting that Phos provided over the dance floor. They were battery-operated and dimmable, eliminating the need for cords and helping keep the dance floor looking clean and polished!
Jordan + Justin, we absolutely loved being a part of your beautiful day! It was a pleasure working with you and your all star vendor team.
Huge shoutout to Flow Event Group for sharing these photos with us. Their 5 person team nailed it on photo, video, and DJ services!
